Dice and dice games date back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Modern craps developed from the ancient Anglo game called Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the origin of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been created by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It is presumed that Sir William’s paladins enjoyed Hazard through a blockade on the fortress Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the citadel’s name.

Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 1700s, when banished by the English, the French relocated south and found safety in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they took their best-loved game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns streamlined the game and made it more mathematically fair.
